Overview
Ike is a real Japanese village, not a staged attraction. At Ryukeiin Temple, you’ll hear the legend of the dragon lord of the pond, then stroll the Nagasawa River where villagers reshaped their land through remarkable ingenuity. You’ll visit small shrines, historical markers, and walk through the heart of the community at Yama Jinja.
This tour is about more than sightseeing — it’s about understanding how rural life, spirituality, and resilience have shaped Japan’s identity and what that identity looks like today.
If you’d like to go deeper, consider the Full Day Private Tour, where Ike can be paired with mountain waterfalls, wasabi terraces, or coastal landscapes for a broader Izu experience.
